This is currently the main treatment manual for EFT for individuals. It is accessible for both beginning and well-seasoned clinicians alike. It is packed full of therapy transcript examples to illustrate the variety of interventions, and it also provides chapters on dealing with common challenges encountered in working with clients. If you are only going to get one book on EFT, this should be the one; it’s an essential text.

Current treatment manual for EFT-C that demonstrates how to identify and work with couples stuck in problematic interactional patterns that are either attachment-based (e.g., loneliness, belongingness), identity-based (e.g., shame, self-esteem), or a mix of both.

Provides overviews on applying EFT for individuals to a variety of clinical populations, such as eating disorders, social anxiety, personality disorders. The text also provides a chapter on a unique adaptation of chair work to address multicultural issues.

Transforming Emotional Pain in Psychotherapy: An emotion-focused approach.

Dr. Timulak provides an in-depth demonstration of how the emotion-deepening model (Pascual-Leone & Greenberg, 2007) guides transformation of primary maladaptive emotions (core emotional pain) in emotion-focused therapy.
